Welcome Back Workout – Focus: Hand Direction of Travel

Tips: Hand direction is angled downward into the water and then extended in front of shoulder. Try to make a straight line with your arm leading your body.
Warm Up and Drills (900 yds)
- 1 x 300 Choice
- 2 x 150 w/ fins Tip: Squeeze shoulder blades together
25 L arm lead kick + 25 R arm lead kick + 50 Shark fin + 50 free - 4 x 75 – Moving Buoy Drill
25 swim w. buoy between thighs, 25 swim w/ buoy between knees and 25 swim w/ buoy between ankles. Try not to fishtail!
Main Set (2000 yds)
- 3 x 300 free on 4:45 or 5:00 Goal Pace = 4:15/4:27
- 2 x 50 One arm Lead Kick drill along lane lines
First 50 will be R arm lead along lane line on right
Second 50 will be L arm lead swim counterclockwise - 2 x 200 Country Club IM on 3:30
- 2 x 50 drill – Same as above
- 1 x 100 choice at a moderately fast pace
- 2 x 50 drill – Same as above
- 6 x 50 kick on 1:20
